Seven-time NBA champion Robert Orry believes that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will not want to be in the game when LeBron James breaks his record for points scored.
“They say records are there to be broken. But this is nonsense. Nobody wants their record to be broken. Everyone wants to be number one. So if someone’s going to break my record, do you think I’m going to sit on this fucking podium and watch him break my record and get angry? Of course not,” Orry said on the Big Shot Bob Podcast.
LeBron James has 38,107 points, 260 less than Abdul-Jabbar, who scored 38,367 points in the NBA. Last summer, during the off-season, LeBron signed a new contract with the Lakers. It was reported that the forward will receive $ 97.1 million for the added two years with the option of a player for the 2024/2025 season.
The Los Angeles Lakers are in 13th place in the Western Conference this season after 46 games of the regular season.
