Poland beat Saudi Arabia in a dramatic match

The Poland national football team defeated the team of Saudi Arabia in the second round match of the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Group C meeting, held on Saturday in Doha, ended with a score of 2:0.

Piotr Zielinski scored in the 39th minute from close range. At the end of the first half, referee Wilton Sampaio awarded a penalty to the Polish team after using the video referee assistance system. Krystian Belik fouled Saleh Al-Shehri. Wojciech Szczesny parried Salem Al-Dawsari’s kick from the penalty mark to the bottom corner, Mohammed Al-Buraik tried to finish the ball into the goal, but the goalkeeper turned the ball into a corner. Robert Lewandowski extended his team’s lead in the 82nd minute, with his first World Cup goal.

After two matches, the Poles have four points, the Saudis have 3. In the third round of the group stage, the Polish national team will play with the Argentines, and the Saudi Arabia team with Mexico.
