In the match of the 5th round of Group H of the Champions League, PSG in Paris scored a crushing victory over Maccabi from Haifa. The meeting ended with a score of 7:2 in favor of the French team.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé, who also have two assists each, scored a double, Neymar and Carlos Soler scored a goal, and another goal was scored by the guests’ football player Sean Goldberg. For the Israeli team, Abdoulaye Sek became the author of both goals.
PSG secured a ticket to the playoffs with a round before the end of the group stage.
The second team to win the right to play in the 1/8 finals from group H was Benfica. The Portuguese beat Juventus 4-3 in Lisbon.
By the beginning of the second half, the Italians were losing with a score of 1:4: Rafa Silva scored a double for the hosts, António Silva and João Mario scored on the ball, and Moise Kean scored the guests. In the end, the “old lady” managed to reduce the gap in the score to a minimum thanks to accurate shots from Arkadiusz Milik and Weston McKenny.
This defeat put an end to the hopes of Juventus reaching the playoffs: the team of Massimiliano Allegri will now fight with Maccabi for the third line in the group, giving a ticket to the Europa League.
The last round will also determine which team will take first place in the group: on November 2, Benfica will play away with Maccabi, and PSG will meet in Turin with Juventus.
