English forward Marcus Rashford has pinpointed his potential new club should he decide to leave Manchester United soon.
Rashford has fallen out of favour with his Portuguese coach, Ruben Amorim. He has recently been left out of three consecutive matches. The English forward has openly expressed his desire to leave Manchester United and is eager to embrace a new challenge.
According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Marcus Rashford is keen to leave Manchester United and prefers to continue his career in La Liga, with Barcelona being his preferred destination. He believes that playing under coach Hansi Flick would help elevate his game.
The report adds that Rashford’s relationship with Manchester United has soured due to his underwhelming performances and perceived lack of commitment. As a result, the club is reportedly willing to sell the English international for less than €40 million in order to offload his hefty salary.
However, Sport notes that Barcelona is aware of the situation but is reluctant to pursue a deal due to Rashford’s significant annual salary of €17 million. The club believes any potential transfer would only be feasible if Rashford agrees to a drastic salary reduction, which seems unlikely.
At 27, Rashford is under contract with Manchester United until 2028.
