Real Madrid has made the decision to delay the tests that French forward Kylian Mbappรฉ was scheduled to undergo.
Mbappรฉ sustained an injury that led to his early exit from the Atalanta match, which Real Madrid won 3-2 yesterday in the final round of the Champions League group stage.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Mbappรฉ will undergo medical tests today to assess the severity of the injury.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid has decided to delay Mbappรฉ’s medical tests until Thursday evening. In the meantime, coach Ancelotti granted the players a rest day from training on Wednesday.
The report suggests that Mbappรฉโs injury, which affects the back of his left thigh muscle, puts his participation in next Saturdayโs La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano in doubt. There are also concerns about his availability for the Intercontinental Cup final in Doha on December 18.
While initial assessments of Mbappรฉโs injury were somewhat reassuring, indicating that he might only miss the La Liga game, Real Madrid is taking a cautious approach. The club will wait for Thursdayโs test results to better understand the extent of the injury. This is especially significant as Mbappรฉ had previously suffered a similar issue in late September, which sidelined him for the derby against Atletico Madrid.
