A Spanish media outlet disclosed today, Thursday, the length of time French star Kylian Mbappe, a key player for Real Madrid, will be sidelined due to the injury he sustained while playing for Los Blancos in their Champions League clash against Atalanta.
Kylian Mbappe played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s 3-2 triumph over Atalanta, scoring the opening goal for his team. Following the match, the club announced that Mbappe is dealing with a left thigh injury, with his recovery timeline contingent on his progress.
Meanwhile, the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Mbappe is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of seven days.
The newspaper further revealed that the French winger will be absent from Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano this Saturday, while his participation in the Intercontinental Cup final on December 18 remains highly uncertain.
It stated: “The medical team is committed to doing everything possible to prepare the Frenchman for the match, whose exact date is yet to be confirmed. However, they are equally cautious and will not take any risks with his recovery.”
The report also shed light on Mbappe’s injury history with Real Madrid since joining the team. Over his four months with the club, he previously sustained an injury in mid-September during a match against Alaves, which sidelined him for three weeks.
