Real Madrid smashes Deportivo Mineira to advance to the 16-round

Real Madrid secured a dominant 5-0 win against Deportivo Mineira on Monday, playing at the latter’s home stadium in the round of 32 of the Spanish King’s Cup.

Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Gรผler (who scored twice), and Luka Modriฤ‡ scored five goals for Real Madrid, with goals in the 5th, 13th, 28th, 55th, and 88th minutes.

This commanding win ensured that Los Blancos advanced to the round of 16 in the competition.

The Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, fielded a lineup that combined reserves with young talent, giving the main players rest ahead of the Spanish Super Cup.

The match kicked off with an early lead for the Merengues, as Fede Valverde fired a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, beating goalkeeper Martinez and finding the net in the 5th minute.

Eduardo Camavinga doubled the lead in the 13th minute, meeting a left-sided cross from Fran Garcรญa and heading the ball into the lower left corner past the goalkeeper.

Real Madrid’s dominance continued, with Arda Gรผler scoring the third goal in the 28th minute. After receiving a pass from Valverde, Gรผler fired a shot that deflected off a defender before finding the back of the net.

The first half concluded with Real Madrid comfortably leading 3-0.

At the start of the second half, Luka Modriฤ‡ added a fourth goal in the 55th minute, exchanging passes with Brahim Dรญaz before firing the ball into the lower left corner of the net.

Ancelotti then brought on key players, introducing Vinรญcius Jรบnior, Lucas Vรกzquez, and Kylian Mbappรฉ to strengthen the team further.

Real Madrid maintained their dominance throughout the match, and in the 88th minute, Arda Gรผler scored his second goal of the game. After receiving a cross from Fran Garcรญa on the left side, Gรผler calmly slotted the ball into the net, securing a 5-0 victory and confirming Los Blancos’ progression to the round of 16.
