Real Madrid Victory 5-2 Over Celta Vigo in the King’s Cup

In a thrilling Real Madrid victory, the Merengues triumphed 5-2 over Celta Vigo in the Spanish King’s Cup round of 16. Goals from Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Endrick, and Fede Valverde ensured Real Madrid’s place in the quarter-finals.

First Half: Mbappe Gives Real Madrid the Lead

The match started with early pressure from Celta Vigo, as Marcos Alonso’s header hit the crossbar just five minutes in. Real Madrid quickly responded with Luka Modric’s powerful shot, which was saved by goalkeeper Ivan Villar in the 6th minute.

Tchouameni tested Villar again with a strong shot from outside the area, but the goalkeeper was up to the challenge. Brahim Diaz nearly opened the scoring in the 29th minute, but Villar made an impressive foot save to keep the score level.

In the 37th minute, Kylian Mbappe gave Real Madrid the lead. Dani Ceballos made a key pass, allowing Mbappe to break free and score past Villar, putting the hosts 1-0 up at halftime.

Second Half: Vinicius and Bamba Spark Drama

The second half started with Vinicius Junior doubling Real Madrid’s lead in the 48th minute after a superb pass from Brahim Diaz. Real Madrid continued to press for more, with Vinicius coming close to a third goal, but Starvelt cleared his chipped shot in the 58th minute.

Celta Vigo came alive in the 83rd minute when Jonathan Bamba scored their first goal. Bamba capitalized on a poor pass from Eduardo Camavinga and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Lunin, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

With the match nearing its end, a penalty kick was awarded to Celta Vigo in the 91st minute after a foul on Bamba by Raul Asensio. Marcos Alonso coolly converted the penalty, bringing the score level at 2-2 and sending the match into extra time.

Extra Time: Endrick and Valverde Seal the Win

In extra time, Real Madrid regained their lead. Endrick scored in the 108th minute, finishing a through ball from Arda Guler, and Fede Valverde added a thunderous shot from outside the box in the 112th minute to make it 4-2.

Endrick completed his brace in the 119th minute with a clever heel flick after a corner kick, sealing Real Madrid’s victory 5-2 and their place in the quarter-finals of the Spanish King’s Cup.

Real Madrid Advances to Quarter-Finals

With a thrilling Real Madrid victory over Celta Vigo, the team has successfully advanced to the Spanish King’s Cup quarter-finals. The goals from Mbappe, Vinicius, Endrick, and Valverde highlighted a strong performance by the Merengues as they continue their pursuit of more silverware this season.
