Date:

Sevilla beat Cadiz at home in the match of the 18th round of the Spanish Championship – 1:0.

The only goal in the 88th minute from the penalty spot was scored by the hosts’ midfielder Ivan Rakitic. The 11-meter penalty was awarded for the fact that the guests’ midfielder Ivan Alejo played with his hand in his own penalty area. The football player received a second yellow card for this and was sent off.

At 45 + 2 minutes of the game, the referee canceled the goal of Sevilla forward Eric Lamela. In the 59th minute, the referee removed the head coach of the hosts Jorge Sampaoli for unsportsmanlike behavior – the specialist expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing.

Thanks to the victory, Sevilla left the relegation zone and climbed to 14th place in the Spanish Championship standings with 18 points. Cadiz dropped to 19th with 16 points.
