Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo trained with the under-21 team, after the decision to exclude him from the first-team squad to face Chelsea, tomorrow, Saturday, in the English Premier League.
And the newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that Cristiano Ronaldo participated in the morning training for the youth team under 21 years, today, Friday, at Carrington (Manchester United training center).
And Manchester United issued a statement, yesterday, Thursday, confirming that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be on the squad list to face Chelsea in the Premier League.
This came after Ronaldo left Old Trafford before the end of his team’s meeting with Tottenham, in the 89th minute, after not entering as a substitute player, last Wednesday.
Ronaldo commented on the decision to exclude him by saying, “As I have always done in my career, I try to respect my colleagues, my opponents, and my coach. This has not changed and I have not. I am the same person and the same professional player that I have been over the past 20 years that I have played professional football, and respect has played.” Always a part of my decisions.
He added in a post on his Instagram account, “I have always tried to set an example for the young people who grew up in all the teams I represented… Unfortunately, this is not always possible and sometimes we get dragged into the midst of the moment.”
“I just feel that I have to keep working hard at Carrington, to support my teammates and be ready for everything in any game. Giving in to pressure is not an option… It was never, this is Manchester United and we must stay united. Soon we will be together again.”
