Manchester United coach Eric Ten Hag expressed his disappointment after his team’s 4-0 loss to Brentford, on Saturday evening, in the second round of the English Premier League.
“It’s my responsibility to provide an explanation,” Ten Hag told the BBC after the match. ” Obviously the level was very poor, and when you make mistakes like that, you can’t win the game.”
“It’s about taking responsibility on the pitch. You can’t make such mistakes. We have to deal with disappointment and deal with more faith on the pitch.”
He continued: “You have to prepare for the match and to fight as an individual and as a group. We have to push each other. What we did was not good. Obviously, we need players, but I don’t want to think about that right now. The good players we have should have done better.”
“I was hoping we’d get a better start, but I will continue to believe in seeing some good things, but what we did in the first two matches was disappointing.”
