The Spanish Supreme Sports Council has sided with Barcelona in the recent dispute over the registration of first-team players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
The Supreme Sports Council has approved Barcelona’s request to temporarily register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, as confirmed by an official statement released by Spanish newspapers.
The statement further clarified that the validity of their registrations will remain in effect “until the final resolution of this appeal.”
Both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor will be available to play in tonight’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona aims to put behind its recent domestic struggles and the crisis over Olmo and Victor’s non-registration. The team is focused on reaching the final and securing its first title under German coach Hansi Flick’s management.
In the other semi-final, Real Madrid will take on Real Mallorca tomorrow, Thursday.
It’s worth noting that La Liga prevented Barcelona from registering Olmo and Victor earlier this January, citing the club’s failure to meet financial requirements amid the Catalan club’s ongoing economic difficulties.
