Tottenham continue their bad streak after losing to Nottingham

Date:

Nottingham Forest extended their impressive run in the English Premier League with a fourth consecutive victory, defeating Tottenham 1-0 on Thursday in the 18th round.

Having previously triumphed over Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Brentford in their last three matches, Nottingham Forest increased their points tally to 34, securing third place.

Meanwhile, Tottenham, who suffered their ninth defeat of the season, remain on 23 points, sitting in 11th place.

Tottenham struggled to recover from their heavy 3-6 loss to Liverpool in the previous round.

The only goal of the match came from Anthony Elanga, who scored in the 28th minute to give Nottingham Forest a 1-0 victory over Tottenham. The visitors ended the match with ten players after Spence was sent off in the 90+4 minute.

Tottenham is enduring their worst first half of a season since 2008/2009, as they continue to drop crucial points week after week under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

Despite a promising start to the season, the team has struggled to find consistency, and their recent poor form has left them in a difficult position. With mounting losses and a lack of progress, Postecoglou’s side is facing growing pressure to turn things around. The club’s inability to secure vital points has highlighted the challenges they are grappling with, making it a tough period for both the players and their supporters.

The results of some matches concerning the 18th round come as follows :

  • Aston Villa 0-3 Newcastle United
  • Westham United 1-0 Southampton
  • Crystal Palace 0-0 Bournemouth
