Manchester City seems to be progressing towards ensuring the continued presence of Spanish coach Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
The Athletic newspaper reports that Guardiola put an end to the speculation about his future by making a clear decision.
It has been reported that Manchester City has come to an agreement with its experienced coach, which includes a new one-year contract with the possibility of extending it for an additional year.
The report states that the 53-year-old’s new contract is expected to be announced within days.
Since joining Manchester City in 2016, Guardiola has solidified his dominance, securing nearly every major title the club has contested, including six Premier League titles in just eight seasons.
He also guided City to their first-ever Champions League title last year.
This development follows rumors linking the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager with potential roles as coach of England or Brazil in the future.
Guardiola’s current contract with City is set to expire at the end of this season.
