Brazilian star Willian is preparing to complete his return to the English Premier League, according to press reports on Thursday evening.
And the newspaper “ Daily Mail ”, that Fulham is close to contracting the former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder, Willian, after the Brazilian player’s contract with his current team Corinthians was terminated, on Wednesday evening.
Willian’s contract with his boyhood club, which he joined from Arsenal last summer, was canceled after Corinthians were knocked out of the Copa Libertadores quarter-final against Flamengo (0-3) on aggregate.
The 34-year-old had agreed to a two-year deal with the Brazilian club, before his contract was terminated early.
The former Chelsea star is now ready to secure a surprise return to the Premier League, after only one year’s absence, by signing newly promoted Fulham.
Willian joined Arsenal in 2020, after failing to agree on a new contract with Chelsea, but he failed at the Emirates Stadium, and scored only one goal in 37 games, before the Gunners terminated his contract.
Having lived in Europe for 14 years, Willian’s family has not adapted to their return to South America as hoped, and it is said that they wanted to return to the Old Continent, where the midfielder spent most of his career.
