The Italian League has confirmed the postponement of the Fiorentina vs Inter Milan match, initially scheduled for today, Sunday, at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, due to a medical emergency. The match will be postponed and played at a later time due to the incident.
The match was halted after 17 minutes when Fiorentina player Edoardo Bovi suddenly collapsed on the field, causing panic among the spectators. Bovi had been attempting to adjust his shoes when he unexpectedly fell to the ground, prompting his teammates to react in distress, with some visibly shaken and in tears due to the alarming nature of the incident.
The Italian website Calciomercato reported that the league decided not to resume the match and postponed it to a later date. The league issued a statement saying, “The match will not resume and has been postponed to a date to be determined later, due to Bovi’s fall, where the situation appeared very serious.”
According to Sky Sport Italia, Bovi remains unconscious but has started to regain his breath.
