Manchester City has made its first winter transfer window signing, strengthening its defence for the second half of the 2024-25 season.
Sky Sports has confirmed that French club Lens has accepted Manchester City’s offer to sign Uzbek defender Abdulkadir Khusanov.
The two clubs have agreed on a transfer deal worth 40 million euros, with additional incentives included, for Khusanov to move to the Etihad Stadium.
According to Athletic newspaper, the 20-year-old defender is set to sign a 4-and-a-half-year contract, with the option for an additional year.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano also revealed that Khusanov will undergo medical tests at Manchester City in the coming days.
It is important to note that City is looking to bolster its squad with new signings this winter to help address the team’s struggles following a series of setbacks this season.
