Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he is not thinking about including Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe, noting that Karim Benzema will return to participate in the derby against Atletico Madrid on September 18.
Ancelotti said, during the press conference today, Tuesday, before facing Leipzig tomorrow in the second round of the group stage in the Champions League: “It is a very important match, and Leipzig is a dangerous team and has fast players.”
When asked about the possibility of including Mbappe, he replied: “We are very excited about the offensive line that we have, and we are not thinking about any other player at the moment.”
And some press reports came out talking that Mbappe’s contract with Saint-Germain extends only for two seasons, in addition to an optional third season that the club does not have the right to act without the player’s consent.
The Italian coach added:
And about Marco Asensio’s anger, he explained: “He is not a young man and he is not a veteran, he has to persevere, and his reaction after the anger was good, as he trained hard.”
He noted: “The Leipzig attack is very dangerous, the defensive side will be very important for us, and Vinicius has developed a lot in not getting involved with provocations, and the important thing is that he focuses on the match.”
He continued: “Hazard achieved everything we asked him for in the past two games, and the team won, and I did not ask him to score goals, but the team scored 7 goals.”
He continued, “Rüdiger contributed to the team with his expertise and defensive security, and with him, we have the best defense.”
He concluded: “Benzema is developing well, and he will be present against Atletico Madrid.”
