Benfica Lisbon defeated Maccabi Haifa in the match of the 6th round of the UEFA Champions League group stage with a score of 6:1. The meeting was held at the Sammy Ofer stadium in Haifa.
As part of the Portuguese team, Goncalo Ramos, Petar Musa, Alejandro Grimaldo, Rafael Silva, Enrique Araujo, and João Mario scored goals. Maccabi’s only goal from the penalty spot was scored by Tjaronne Cheri.
Benfica, thanks to this victory, took first place in the standings of Group H, ahead of PSG due to more goals in away games. Both clubs have 14 points after six matches, the teams will play in the 1/8 finals. Maccabi finished the European Cup season, finishing fourth in the group, failing to get ahead of Juventus in the fight for the Europa League playoffs.
