Benzema: Sorry, I will not answer what you want, and I don’t need a picture with Ronaldo

Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema confirmed that facing Barcelona is more than just a match.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet tomorrow, Sunday, at King Fahd Stadium, in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Benzema said, in the press conference for the match: “It is not just a match, but it means a lot. Winning it gives us a new title.”

He added, “We will play a difficult match, but in our minds, we must be ready to win it.”

He added, “It is a very important match, Barcelona is a great team as always, but we have to look at ourselves.”

And about his readiness for the match, he commented: “I have returned from injury, and it is clear that I did a good job to return to my best levels, and I am very happy, I hope to continue to help my colleagues.”

And he touched on what happened with him before the World Cup, saying: “What happened is over, the most important thing is tomorrow’s match. I’m fine, and I focus only on tomorrow’s match. The past is complicated, but that’s all.”

He continued, “This is not the main topic now, I cannot talk about it more, I will not answer, I am sorry, I am in Madrid, I enjoy every training session, and I go year after year.”

And about the possibility of renewing his contract, he added: “I am now at Real Madrid. Talking about that is another topic.”

Benzema also praised Saudi Arabia for organizing the Super Cup: “It is a very beautiful country, and we are all happy to be here.”

Asked about his opinion of Saudi football, he said: “I don’t watch football here much, but I think they have a very good team here, and I hope they continue to develop.”

Benzema also talked about his meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo: “We don’t need a picture to say we are friends. I couldn’t greet him because he was training, but I hope I can see him tomorrow.”
