Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest in commanding away win

Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Saturday in the eighth round of the Premier League. The victory moved the Blues to fourth place with 14 points, while Forest remained in 17th with just five. Goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto, and Reece James sealed the result for Enzo Maresca’s men, who were led by assistant coach Willy Caballero due to Maresca’s suspension.

Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest with a second-half surge

The first half ended goalless despite a few close chances from both sides. But the second half started explosively for Chelsea, who struck twice in just three minutes. Acheampong opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a header from a Neto cross. Three minutes later, Neto himself doubled the lead with a clever left-footed finish from a free kick.

Reece James added the third goal in the 84th minute, firing home after a rebound to mark his 200th appearance for the club.

Forest struggles continue under Postecoglou

Nottingham Forest’s defense once again looked shaky, particularly from set pieces — a recurring problem under manager Ange Postecoglou. According to Squawka, Forest have now conceded 10 goals from free kicks since his appointment, double the total of any other Premier League side during that span.

Despite hitting the crossbar and creating several good chances, Forest couldn’t find the net, while Chelsea’s defense, led by goalkeeper Robert Sánchez, held firm.

Chelsea’s young stars shine

Acheampong’s goal marked his first in professional football, making him the second teenager, alongside Estevão, to score for Chelsea this season — a feat not achieved since 1998–99. Pedro Neto’s goal and assist continued his excellent form, and Reece James’ finish capped off a stellar performance.
