Novak Djokovic admitted that he was not in the ideal physical condition, after he again suffered from problems with his left thigh, in the second round of the Australian Open, in his victory over Frenchman Enzo Kwaku.

After overcoming the physical problems that forced him to seek medical assistance during the match, Novak managed to win the match 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-0.

Novak said after the match, “My situation is not ideal, but I do not want to think about the next. I would like to feel that I am different, but I have to think about each day alone.”

He continued, “The good thing is that there is a break between matches, and this time will benefit me to recover. I should not train on rest days.”

With this victory, the Serbian qualified for the third round of the tournament, and he will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who also defeated Laslo Djiri, 6-3, 6-2, 6-0.

Novak added, “I am concerned, I cannot deny it because there are reasons for this concern, and I have to accept the circumstances.”

He stressed, “I will continue to try to compete against Dimitrov. Now every day that passes complicates matters more. Things are similar two years ago, but I used to end things by winning,” commenting on his victory in the title in 2021.

He noted, “I do not know how to change this, perhaps the schedule in the past days was affected by The intense heat, the rain and the matches dragged on into the evening.”

During the match, the French player was about to withdraw after his ankle sprained at the beginning of the match, after which Djokovic needed medical assistance due to pain in the left leg.

Next Saturday, Novak Djokovic will play Dimitrov.
