Russian fighter Islam Makhachev after defeating Brazilian Charles Oliveira in a title fight at the UFC 280 tournament in Abu Dhabi presented the championship belt to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Makhachev defeated Oliveira via submission in the second round on Saturday. After the victory, the Russian was awarded the championship belt, which Khabib Nurmagomedov owned throughout his career. Makhachev thanked Nurmagomedov, who was in the corner during the fight, and presented the former champion with his belt.
Makhachev managed to win the champion title on the first attempt. In total, the 31-year-old Russian has 23 wins and one loss in MMA.
