Lionel Messi officially announced the Messi Cup, a new international youth football competition to be held in South Florida from December 9 to 14. The Argentine legend revealed that eight top clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester City, and Inter Miami, will take part in this exciting event aimed at developing future stars.

Messi shared his excitement on Instagram, saying: “Miami will host a special youth football tournament, with some of the best clubs in the world. The future of the game will be on display — it’s more than just matches.”
The Messi Cup will be organized in collaboration with his company, 525 Rosario, which describes it as a blend of sports, culture, and innovation, uniting young talent on and off the field.
Format and Participating Teams
The tournament will feature 18 matches between eight clubs: Inter Miami, Barcelona, Manchester City, River Plate, Inter Milan, Newell’s Old Boys, Atletico Madrid, and Chelsea. Teams will first compete in a group stage before knockout rounds decide the final standings. The final and third-place match will be held at Chase Stadium.
