Newcastle extended their impressive start to the English Premier League season by coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over hosts Tottenham on Saturday in the 20th round of the competition.
This marked Newcastle’s third consecutive win, bringing their tally to 35 points. They are now in fifth place, just behind Chelsea on goal difference. In fourth place, Chelsea plays against Crystal Palace in the same round today.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s points remained at 24, leaving them in 11th place in the standings.
Tottenham took an early lead in the 4th minute through Dominic Solanke, but Newcastle quickly responded, equalizing just two minutes later with a goal from Anthony Gordon.
In the 38th minute, Alexander Isak put Newcastle ahead, scoring their second goal to give them the lead.
