Ons Jabeur loses to Swiatek in the US Open final

Date:

Tunisian Ons Jabeur lost the final of the US Open Tennis Championships “women”, to the expense of the Polish Iga Swiatek, ranked first in the world, in two sets without a response.

The Polish woman seemed more willing to win and was helped by Jaber’s failure to appear at her usual level, and her many mistakes in the meeting.

The first set ended 6-2, with the Polish woman absolutely dominant.

Jaber’s performance improved in the second set, during which she returned from afar after being late 0-3, to equalize and then go one by one, until the Tae Break, who smiled at the Polish.

Open road

The first set had a strong start from the Pole, who led 3-0 after she broke Jaber.

Anas managed to return the break to narrow the difference 3-2, but that was not enough to return to the match as it should, which allowed the world number one to be on an open road and win the first set 6-2, after 32 minutes of play.

wake up but…

In the second set, the Polish advanced 3-0, and Ons Jabeur narrowed the difference 3-2, after which the Tunisian lost her serve and lost the chances of adjusting, making the score 4-2, at a similar start to the first set.

But the Tunisian champion also managed to break the Polish serve 4-3, and she tied for the first time 4-4.

Ons Jabeur had a valuable opportunity to break the serve and take precedence for the first time, but she missed the ninth game, which required more than 7 minutes to settle and ended in favor of Swiatek, which enabled the Polish to advance again 5-4.

Despite this, Ons Jabeur did not give up, but succeeded in adjusting the result again 5-5 and then 6-6, to force her opponent to play “Tay Break”.

The Polish advanced in the tie-breaker, 4-2, before Jaber scored 3 consecutive points and took precedence 5-4.

But again, Jabeur missed a valuable opportunity to reverse the situation, to make way for her opponent to win the Tai Break 7-5, to embrace Swiatek for the first time in her history, the US Open title.
