A French press report confirmed, today, Saturday, that Paris Saint-Germain intends to renew the contract of Argentine star Lionel Messi.
Messi’s contract with Saint-Germain expires at the end of the current season, with the option to extend for an additional season.
According to the French newspaper, L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain officials will meet Jorge Messi, after the end of the summer transfer period, to start negotiations to renew the Argentine flea contract.
The newspaper added that Paris had expressed its desire to keep Messi for a third season, and it seemed that there was almost an agreement between the two parties.
The newspaper pointed out that the renewal of Messi’s contract for a third season will be with a new contract, but the club will need to get rid of the high salaries first.
It is possible that the club will open its doors to the departure of the duo, the Brazilian Marquinhos, and the Italian Marco Verratti.
