Real Madrid sent a message of gratitude to its former Welsh star, Gareth Bale, after retiring from football.
Today, Monday, Bell officially announced his final retirement from football, a few months after his departure from the Meringue ranks, and his transfer to the American Los Angeles team.
Real Madrid issued a statement on its official website, saying: “In view of Gareth Bale’s announcement of his retirement from football, Real Madrid wants to show his gratitude and admiration for a wonderful legend of our club and world football.”
He added: “Gareth Bale arrived at Real Madrid in 2013 and defended our shirt for 9 years, during which he won 19 titles, including 5 European Cups, 4 Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 3 League Championships, the King’s Cup once, and 3 Cups. Super Spanish.
He continued, “Individually, he was named the best player in the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final and won the Golden Ball in the Club World Cup in the same year.”
And the Real statement continued: “Gareth Bale was part of our team in one of the most successful stages in our history, and he forever represents many of the brightest moments of the past decade, such as his goal after an unforgettable career in the King’s Cup final against Barcelona in 2014, and his goal in the League final.” European champions in Lisbon in 2014, or his goals in the Champions League final in Kyiv in 2018, especially the acrobatic goal that will remain forever engraved in the memory of all football fans.
