24-year-old American tennis player Francis Tiafoe (ranked 26), who defeated 36-year-old Spanish representative Rafael Nadal (ranked third) in the fourth round of the 2022 US Open, marked a significant statistical achievement.
Since Nadal is the winner of the Australian Open – 2022 and Roland Garros – 2022, and he withdrew from Wimbledon before the semi-finals, Tiafoe became the first to defeat him at the Grand Slam tournaments this year.
