Yann Diomande Real Madrid transfer gathers momentum
The Yann Diomande Real Madrid transfer is approaching its final stages, with the Spanish giants reportedly closing in on a deal worth €120 million, including bonuses. After seeing an initial bid rejected, Real Madrid have returned with an improved offer that appears to have convinced RB Leipzig to continue negotiations.
The 19-year-old Ivorian talent has already approved the move, making the Santiago Bernabeu his preferred destination as he prepares for what could become one of the biggest transfers of the summer.
Madrid increase their offer
According to transfer specialists at Foot Mercato, Real Madrid’s first proposal of €100 million was turned down by Leipzig. However, discussions between the two clubs have progressed significantly after the Spanish side returned with a package valued at around €120 million, including performance-related bonuses.
Club representatives are now working to finalize the remaining details, with optimism growing that an agreement will soon be reached.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs also reported that Madrid have intensified talks in recent days and are increasingly confident of securing the highly-rated winger.
Mourinho identifies Diomande as a priority
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is believed to have requested the signing of a fast and versatile attacker capable of stretching opposing defenses.
Diomande perfectly fits that profile. Comfortable on either wing, the teenager combines explosive pace with excellent dribbling ability and the versatility to operate across the attacking line. Madrid’s coaching staff reportedly view him as a player capable of adding a new dimension to the team’s offensive play.
His age also aligns with the club’s long-term strategy of investing in elite young talent who could become future stars.
PSG withdraw from the race
Before Madrid emerged as favourites, Paris Saint-Germain appeared to be leading the race for Diomande’s signature.
The French champions had reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with the player, but negotiations with Leipzig eventually stalled. The German club insisted on receiving between €120 million and €130 million, while also requesting that Diomande remain on loan for another season.
PSG ultimately decided those conditions were too demanding and withdrew from negotiations rather than commit to such an expensive deal.
Real Madrid seize the opportunity
The collapse of PSG’s negotiations opened the door for Madrid to act decisively. While much of the media attention focused on links with Michael Olise of Bayern Munich, the Spanish giants quietly accelerated discussions with Leipzig behind the scenes.
That strategy now appears to be paying off, with the Yann Diomande Real Madrid transfer moving closer to completion. If the final agreement is signed, Madrid will secure one of Europe’s most promising young attackers and further strengthen a squad already filled with emerging talent ahead of the new season.
