Chelsea vs Wolverhampton: Blues dominate 3-0 to climb second
Chelsea moved up to second place in the Premier League standings after a commanding 3-0 home win over Wolverhampton on Saturday evening in the 11th round of the competition.
Goals from Malo Justo, Joao Pedro, and Pedro Neto sealed the victory, as Chelsea continued their impressive form under Enzo Maresca.
The win took Chelsea’s tally to 20 points — just six behind leaders Arsenal — while Wolverhampton remained rooted at the bottom with only two points from eleven matches.
Early Pressure from Chelsea
From the opening whistle, Chelsea showed clear intent to dominate, pressing high and creating early chances.
In just the second minute, Garnacho won a free kick that Enzo Fernandez took with precision, forcing goalkeeper Johnstone into a stunning save.
The Argentine continued to threaten, delivering a superb through pass to Garnacho minutes later, but the young winger’s finish was denied by the keeper’s outstretched foot.
The hosts controlled possession and tempo throughout the half, but despite several close chances — including a header cleared off the line and another save from Fernandez’s corner — they went into the break level at 0-0.
Second-Half Brilliance
Chelsea came out firing in the second half, and their persistence was rewarded in the 51st minute.
A pinpoint cross from Garnacho found Malo Justo, whose thumping header broke the deadlock and ignited celebrations at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues didn’t let up. Substitute Estevão added flair to Chelsea’s attack, and in the 65th minute, his low cross found Joao Pedro, who calmly fired home to double the lead.
Just eight minutes later, Garnacho turned provider again, sprinting down the left to assist Pedro Neto, who slotted in the third goal against his former side — a strike that sealed a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Wolves’ Struggles Continue
Wolverhampton struggled to create meaningful opportunities, their best chance coming in the 85th minute when Munetsi intercepted a poor back pass but failed to convert one-on-one against goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
It was another frustrating evening for Wolves, who remain bottom of the table with just two points, and without a win this season.
